JUSTIN FRIELLO

Justin is a multi-genre composer and performer who specializes in autobiographical narratives. Originally from upstate NY, he is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Music Composition from the University of North Texas. Justin received his Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Albany, where he double majored in Music Theory and Psychology. He also attended SUNY Purchase’s Conservatory of Music, studying composition with Huang Ruo and Suzanne Farrin and orchestration with Du Yun.
From 2012-2017, he was an active member of the Lehman Engel BMI Musical Theatre Advanced Workshop in New York City, where he met his writing partner, Cleo Handler. Their full-length original musical, From The Fire, was selected for the Off Broadway Musical Theater Production Program at the Players Theatre and was a semi-finalist at the National Music Theatre Conference. Justin was featured in Playbill online for his arranging and orchestration work on the video series, “SONDHEIM…In The Style Of…” He has also been a proud member of Actors' Equity since 2015. Look for Justin’s original score in the UNT Department of Dance and Theatre’s Spring 2026 production of The Tempest.
Justin has been performing since 2005 as a as a solo artist and as the frontman for several bands (most notably, Stockade Kids). While live performance has always been his focus, his collection of studio releases includes numerous EPs, LPs, singles, and even 10 holiday albums. Justin has opened for bands like Gin Blossoms, Girl Talk, and The Village People. In 2016, Justin released his hybrid EP/Short Film, Jack & Jill. His most recent release is a live EP, recorded at the famous Caffè Lena in Saratoga Springs, NY. You can purchase and stream his music on all platforms.

LIGHTING DESIGNER/PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
Beige (they/she), M.A. Music Composition, is a composer, baritone saxophonist, lighting designer whose musical explorations inhabit styles like jazz, theatrical, and folk. After graduating from UNT with a B.M. in Composition in 2023, Beige was awarded a Fulbright U.S. Study Research Award to Sweden. Having received their M.A. in Music Composition, they will soon pursue a doctoral degree in Music Composition. Outside of music, Beige is a passionate reader, writer, bookbinder, and dog parent to a ‘doxie-pin’ named Nessy (short for Janessa). ALISSA COX
PIANO
Alissa holds a B.M. in Piano Pedagogy from Wheaton College and an M.M. in Collaborative Piano from the University of North Texas. She works as an active pianist and vocal coach across the Dallas–Fort Worth area and nationally, partnering with choirs, opera companies, orchestras, chamber ensembles, and soloists. As both an educator and performer, Alissa is dedicated to helping others discover their unique voice in music. She thrives on the collaborative process, finding joy in watching a musical work come to life through teamwork and creativity.

Brooklyn is currently pursuing a B.A. in Theatre with a focus in performance at the University of North Texas. As a UNT student, she has worked both behind and in front of the camera for the North Texas Television station. Brooklyn has most recently appeared in Lost Girl at UNT. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in film acting and screenwriting. She is also incredibly excited for the opportunity to work on such a thoughtful project with so many of her friends!

PERCUSSION I
Hanna is a California-born percussionist. She began learning piano at age 5 but quickly found a passion in percussion after discovering it. She is now a third-year undergraduate student at the University of North Texas where she is pursuing her B.M. in Percussion Performance. Having an affinity for mallet percussion, Hanna was fortunate to attend the Keiko Abe International Marimba Academy in Tokyo. Along with pursuing her degree at UNT, Hanna is a teacher at the New Song School of the Arts where she teaches drum set, piano, and marimba.

Chloe is a senior at the University of North Texas with a major in Theatre and minor in Human Development and Family Science. She recently appeared on stage as Cathy in The Great God Pan, Liz/Sarah in Lovesick, or Eurdice/Chorus in Antigone. After graduation, Chloe will pursue acting professionally and hopes to teach in the DFW in the future. She would like to thank her family and friends who support her.

Samuel is a senior at The University of North Texas majoring in theatre with a concentration in performance and a political science minor. He has been seen in UNT productions of Lost Girl and Fiddler On the Roof and was a part of the GTM1 workshop in spring 2025. He would like to thank the cast and crew for creating such a wonderful space to create, and wants to thank Justin for trusting him to take part in such a personal work.

MORGAN KATHRYN MINEAR
SOPRANO
Morgan is a rural-Iowa-born vocalist now based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex who is often praised for her crystalline tone. She received her M.M. in Vocal Performance from the University of North Texas. On top of her extensive background in sacred Music, Morgan uses her soaring sound to specialize in contemporary art song as well as secular music from the Baroque and Renaissance periods. Morgan is a lover of text and intentional storytelling, always finding ways to pour empathy into her solo and choral artistry. Previous performances include Whitacre’s The Sacred Veil and Howells’ Requiem (First Presbyterian Church, Denton, TX), Handel’s Messiah (Irving Arts Center), and Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem (UNT). Upcoming performances include Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem at Christ the King Catholic Church in Dallas, TX, where she is currently a staff singer.

BASS
PJ is a composer, vocalist, and collaborator who explores story-driven narratives, theatrics, social issues, and the queer experience through music. With an emphasis on exploring interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches, PJ has worked with musicians, visual artists, poets, filmmakers, and scientists. Most recently, PJ has strived to use his music as journalism, part of an ongoing educational and outreach commitment of creating work that engages with various social issues. PJ is pursuing a master’s degree in music composition from the University of North Texas, studying with Dr. Kirsten Soriano.

Simón is a composer and pianist whose focus is on music for concert, media, and collaborative performance, taking influence from literature, philosophy, anthropology, and the natural sciences and humankind’s relationship with nature. Particular areas of interest are improvisatory music, indeterminacy, and mixing different performance practices. Simón is currently pursuing a B.M. in Composition at the University of North Texas College of Music.

Aaron graduated from the University of North Texas in 2019 with a B.A. in Integrative Studies with concentrations in Music, Business, and Communications. He teaches elementary music as well as piano and drum lessons. Aaron was the keyboardist for Captain Moon & the Silver Spoons and now leads his own musical project, Twig Eaters.

ANDREW RUTTEN
BASS CLARINET
Andrew is an active performer and educator in the DFW metroplex and is currently pursuing his M.M. Clarinet Performance with a related field in Music Business at the University of North Texas. He studies clarinet with Dr. Kimberly Cole-Luevano and Dr. Phillip O. Paglialonga. Beyond UNT, Andrew has also performed with the Mesquite and San Angelo Symphony Orchestras. As an educator, Andrew teaches private lessons in the Lewisville ISD and for UNT’s Virtual Private Music Lessons program. Andrew was a finalist in the first-ever Low Clarinet Enthusiasts Solo Competition at the most recent International Clarinet Association’s Low Clarinet Festival. A native of rural North Dakota, Andrew is always excited to discuss and share his small-town upbringing, especially through foods like lefse, krumkake, tator tot hotdish, and knoephla soup. When he is not performing, Andrew enjoys hiking with his friends, exploring local breweries, playing video games, and listening to classic country music.

Anna originally hails from San Antonio, TX and earned a degree in Choral Music Education from the University of North Texas in 2024 and serves as the Associate Choir Director at Birdville High School. She has experience leading choirs of all levels and creating inclusive, engaging learning environments that commit to musical excellence.

ROYCE SPEARS

Royce began acting in Midlothian Heritage High School, taking on notable roles such as Darcy from Pride & Prejudice and Jack Kelly from Newsies. He then transitioned to film, studying it at UNT, and is set to graduate this December. Royce's focus is in Directing and Writing, known for a unique and creative expression in his work that has earned him awards such as Best Narrative Short at the UNT Media Arts festival for What it Takes to be Rob, the Boss and is set to make a film festival run with his most recent work, Hypnosis. After graduating, he will continue his work as an independent artist in the worlds of Film and Theatre.

COLIN STOKES
ASSISTANT TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Colin Stokes is a cellist, composer, music and media technologist, and researcher focused on artificial intelligence in computer media systems design. Colin is a PhD candidate at The University of North Texas, where he works with Jon Nelson, Marco Buongiorno Nardelli, David Stout, and Panayiotis Kokoras. He also holds degrees in cello performance from The Juilliard School and the Eastman School of Music. As a cellist, Colin tours actively with the Berlin-based electronic group Symphoniacs. His music can be heard on more than 20 albums released by Universal Music/Polydor, Warner Music Japan, EMI, Neuma Records, and others. He has shared the stage with performers ranging from Yo-Yo Ma, Gidon Kremer, and John Williams, to Lady Gaga, Chaka Khan and Heidi Klum and his performances, broadcasts, and streams have been seen and heard by tens of millions of people worldwide.

KAHAN TARAPOREVALA
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Kahan is an award-winning composer, a producer, and an educator. Growing up in Mumbai and Singapore, he studied the piano and sang in choirs from age five. Striving to bring people together through the transformative power of music, Kahan’s compositions aim to engender meaningful conversations that transcend cultural and linguistic boundaries. Kahan has a BM in Music Composition (Founders Scholar) with a Minor in Conducting from the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University (2022) and an MM in Music Composition from the University of North Texas (UNT) College of Music (2024). He is currently pursuing a PhD in composition at UNT.

Emily is a Junior at the University of North Texas majoring in Theatre with a minor in Women & Gender Studies. Goodbye to Myself, Pt. 1 is her third production at UNT. She has been seen in past roles on campus as Callie/B in Lost Girl and Woman/Abbie in Love/Sick. Emily is so pleased to be a part of such a unique production of theatre and can't wait to share it with an audience!

JULIAN YANAS
TENOR
Julian is an educator, conductor, and vocalist based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. He holds Bachelor of Music degrees in Choral Music Education and Vocal Performance from the University of North Texas. He currently teaches music at Martinez Elementary and serves as the Music Director of the Cherub Choir at Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church. Julian is the Tenor Section Leader for the Canyon Creek Sanctuary Choir and performs with the Turtle Creek Chorale. Passionate about inclusivity and diversity in music, he has served in leadership roles both in and out of undergrad advocating for equity, representation, and community engagement within the arts. Julian believes in being a well-rounded musician and values a broad range of repertoire, from musical theater and classical traditions to contemporary works. He looks forward to upcoming performances, including All Is Calm with the Turtle Creek Chorale.
